FUN CITY kids café -550sqm Indoor Playground Project in Argentina

FUN CITY started not as a playground idea, but as a café business looking for longer customer stays and higher family return rates. When the client contacted Yommi Play, their main concern was how to combine food service, children's play, and birthday parties without creating noise, safety, or management issues. During early discussions, we focused less on "how many games" and more on how children would behave while parents are seated. The client shared that the space needed to feel calm near the café tables, gradually becoming more active deeper inside. Based on the 550 sqm layout, Yommi Play proposed an Indoor Playground concept that supports café operation first, with play areas designed to work around it rather than compete with it.

Instead of arranging the venue simply by indoor play equipment type, the layout was planned according to children's behaviour and energy levels. Closest to the café seating area is a low-noise toddler zone with dollhouses, wall-mounted play panels, and tabletop blocks, encouraging quiet, focused play that keeps younger children nearby. 3-year-olds huddle around mini dollhouses, "cooking" pretend meals, or arranging furniture, while wall toys keep fidgety hands occupied—low-height, rounded-edge designs eliminate safety risks.

Moving further inside, the space opens into a moderate-activity zone with mini trampolines and a soft play structure featuring slides and a ball pool, where children naturally become more active. 6-year-olds bounce in pairs, giggling as they reach for hanging soft toys, with padded enclosures that let parents rest easy. At the climbing wall + foam pit, 8-year-olds scale colourful holds then leap into the soft foam blocks, cheering when they nail a new route.

At the far end of the Indoor Playground, the high ropes course is positioned as a "destination attraction," drawing older children deeper into the space. 10-year-olds balancing on ropes and crawling through tunnels, high-fiving each other at the finish line. This progressive layout reduces cross-traffic, simplifies supervision, and allows the café, play, and party functions to operate simultaneously without interference.

After opening, FUN CITY quickly developed a stable daily rhythm: short weekday visits driven by café customers, and extended weekend stays supported by play and party bookings. The client noted that parents stay longer and order more when children remain engaged but not overstimulated near the seating area. Birthday parties benefit from the deeper activity zones, while everyday visitors appreciate the calm front area. This project shows how an Indoor Playground can function as a business tool, not just an attraction—supporting customer comfort, emotional connection, and shared family time.
