Sky Zone - 1850 sqm Trampoline Park Project in Arvada, United States

The Sky Zone Trampoline Park project in Arvada started with a very practical challenge. The client was planning an independent venue expected to handle large groups, mixed ages, and long operating hours. From the first contact, the focus was not on adding as many attractions as possible, but on how the space would perform under pressure—weekends, holidays, and peak after-school hours. During discussions, the client raised concerns about traffic bottlenecks, supervision blind spots, and how to prevent high-energy activities from interfering with beginners or younger users. The orange and blue colour scheme was chosen early as a wayfinding tool as much as a design choice, helping define activity zones visually inside a large Trampoline Park environment.

After reviewing the 1850 sqm layout, Yommi Play approached the design as a single connected play system rather than separated rooms. The front area functions as a transition zone, using foam blocks, balance elements, and soft obstacles to slow entry speed and allow users to adapt. From there, visitors naturally move into a wide trampoline field with clear sightlines and generous spacing, designed to accommodate simultaneous jumpers without crowding. Deeper into the venue, higher-intensity elements are introduced in layers: inflatable boulder balls that require cooperation, freestyle trampoline areas connected to foam pits and basketball hoops, and side zones with climbing walls and suspended obstacles. This progression allows users to self-select challenge levels while keeping overall movement fluid and controlled.

The standard trampoline zone functions as the physical and social core of the Trampoline Park. The open layout allows multiple users to jump at the same time, making it suitable for warm-up, free movement, and casual group play. Some children practice basic jumps and turns, while others pause at the edge, watching friends bounce before joining in. The simplicity of the activity lowers the entry barrier, allowing first-time users and younger children to participate comfortably while keeping energy levels high across the space.

The giant boulder ball area introduces a different rhythm to play. The oversized inflatable balls require children to slow down, balance carefully, and often cooperate with others to climb or stabilise the surface. A child crouches on top of an orange ball, arms stretched out to maintain balance, while nearby kids push foam blocks into place to help a friend climb up. This type of shared play naturally encourages communication and teamwork while reducing uncontrolled running.

The climbing wall offers vertical challenges that contrast with the horizontal movement of trampolines. Children choose routes marked by colourful holds, moving upward at their own pace. Below, the foam pit provides a safe and forgiving landing, allowing kids to jump down confidently after each climb. The combination builds upper-body strength, coordination, and confidence, with many children repeating the climb multiple times to test themselves.

The zip line delivers a short but memorable burst of excitement. Secured in a harness, children push off and glide smoothly across the space, experiencing speed without losing control. Because each ride is quick, turnover remains high, keeping waiting times short even during busy periods. The zip line adds variety to the park by introducing forward motion and aerial play, complementing jumping-based activities.

Suspended above a foam pit, the battle beam creates a clear stage for friendly competition. Two players face each other, carefully adjusting their footing while trying to maintain balance. Spectators often gather nearby, watching as players wobble, recover, and eventually fall safely into the foam below. The attraction combines balance, coordination, and social interaction, making it both engaging to play and entertaining to watch.
